Do I feel comfortable in my skin? When I look in the mirror, what do I see? Is there a distortion of who I am? If so, why is that?
Many in the world believe that they have to become someone else to live in this world. Always attempting to transform themselves into something they are not. Just look at the magizines on the rack. The airbrushed bodies, scantily dressed, always attempting to look young. Is that really for us?
We are beautiful!!!! Maybe we have a few pounds to shed, or we need a new hair style, but we don't have to let society dictate what we look like. The more we try to change ourselves in appearance the deeper we dive into the mire. Maybe its time to toss the mirror.
Can you imagine what people would look like without the mirror. Natural, beautiful and without the help of something that distorts our image. Don't fall for the view that you have to be the most made up in order to live. Be yourself and it will begin to come into line for you.
Have you ever seen a house that is plain on the outside, but when you walk in, it is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen? The outside is made to be weathered and worn, but it is the inside where we find comfort. The same goes for us. Let the outside go natural and work on the inside and you will begin to notice the difference.
Jesus says that he has come to set us free so that we may live our fullest. The full is not in the world but in Him. Jesus has opened the door so that we may have our deepest dreams fulfilled; a relationship with our creator. We all have that hole that needs to be filled with this relationship. One that comforts, consoles and brings us to peace in the worst possible moments in our lives.
Be comfortable with who you are. He accepts us just the way we are.
